In addition to working in house as part of dynamic teams of senior professionals, I have significant experience working in a consultancy capacity across retail and other business sectors.

ABOUT JANE PERKS CONSULTING
I have 20 years experience working as an HR professional at Board level across a variety of businesses including privately owned and family run retail brands. The breadth of my experience enables me to gain a quick understanding of the issues facing an organisation and offer practical, cost effective solutions.
I have supported business growth with ambitious store opening programmes as well as building expert Multi Channel teams to deliver significant digital growth. Throughout my experience, regular reviews of structures and capability have been conducted in a professional and effective way – sometimes needing to deliver significant cost savings. Learning and Development programmes to support Talent Management and Succession Planning are invaluable and I have been instrumental in the design and implementation of award winning programmes, including Investors in People accreditation in 2 of the brands I have worked with.
My consultancy skills have been put to good use in businesses where high level HR expertise is needed for a particular project or to support an existing team facing a particular challenge.

Jane has many years experience with well known retail Brands, working at Board level and playing a significant role in developing people strategies to support business transformation through periods of growth and change. This has included:
- Business turnaround situations with total organisational review and the rationalisation and realignment of structures and resources to support a successful return to profitability.
- The design and implementation of all people processes and practices to support the growth and ‘modernisation’ of a successful Brand which had lacked investment for a number of years.
- Significant infrastructure projects including the move of a Head Office function, and the relocation of a Distribution Centre and Contact Centre – all completed on time, on budget and with no loss of personnel.
- Developing an HR function with external partnerships to support significant business growth and development – including driving significant investment in People Development and Talent Management
Successful Consultancy As An Experienced HR Professional
In addition to in-house Board level roles, Jane spent 2 years building a successful Consultancy business delivering support, advice and coaching to a variety of different businesses and sectors. This included:
- The design of a totally new organisational structure for the set up of Sainsbury’s TU clothing business in Coventry – working with the operational management to build the resource and capability for this venture. This included a recruitment plan and liaison with all parties as well as the management of a TUPE transfer from previously partners into in house functions.
- Interim cover for an HRD on maternity leave.
- Facilitation of senior team strategy development events incorporating team building and alignment.
- Delivery of Coaching/Career counselling support to a number of individuals experiencing organisational and personal change
